Philately and the 4 National Anniversaries

The year 2014 in Malta, celebrates 4 National anniversaries:

									Independence - 50 years;

									Republic Day - 40 years;

									Freedom Day - 35 years;

									European Member - 10 years.

On 21^th June 2014, the Gozo Philatelic Society organized a talk a Il-Hagar Heart of Gozo. The talk was made by the expert philatelist and historian H.E. Chev. Dr. Alfred Bonnici KM, MD, B.Pharm., Cert(GAM.UK), FRSM, F.R.S.H., F.R.A.E.S., U.O.M. Speaker Emeritus and President of the Malta Philatelic Society.
Another talk was successfuly presented by The Gozo Philatelic Society.

175^th First Gozo Titular Statue - St. George 2014

Gozo celebrates the 175^th anniversary of its first titular statue of St George the Great Martyr.
On this occasion the Gozo Philatelic Society issued this card with a special post mark in a limited edition.

Xaghra, Gozo

1oo^th Anniversary of the Set of Statues -
Xaghra, Gozo

MaltaPost issued a Special Commemorative Postmark on 28/02/2014 on the occasion of the 100^th Anniversary of the set of statues for the Xaghra, Gozo.
On this occassion the Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemmorative Card in a limited edition of 65.

Treasures of Malta - Series II Fountains - Lunzjata Valley Fountain

On 3^rd January, 2014, MaltaPost issued the Treasures of Malta - Series II Fountains set of stamps. One of the stamps was a Gozo-Related stamps, because it depicts the Lunzjata Valley Fountain.
On this occassion the Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemmorative Card in a limited edition of 65.

10^th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Ghaqda Muzikali Vizitazzjoni

For the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the foundation of the Ghaqda Muzikali Vizitazzjoni MaltaPost, issued a special handstamp on Friday 22 November 2013 at Gharb Post Office.
This time it is the "Victoria Hire Service" stamp in the latest MaltaPost Buses set, using a reproduction of the original photo adapted on the stamp itself.

Gozo Philatelic Exhibition 2013

This year's edition of the Exhibition organized annually by the Gozo Philatelic Society at the Gozo Ministry Halls (on St. Francis Square, Victoria) will be open from Monday 21^st October to Sunday 27^th.
MaltaPost issued a commemorative handstamp for the GPS Exhibition and Anthony Grech produced a personalized stamp and a relative card.
